'Komaram' Row Only For Kickbacks: Chiru

Creating controversies over films for their success is not a new trend in the Telugu film industry. The present controversy over Pavan Kalyan-starrer Komaram Puli is no different.
The film opened in theatres in the Telangana region to the large scale controversy over the name: the Telangana activists obstructed to the release of film, demanding that the word “Komaram” be removed from the title because it would be insulting to the famous freedom fighter of Adilabad Komaram Bheem. After a couple of hours of ruckus by the Telangana activists, the producers agreed to remove the word Komaram from the film, which would now be run the with the title – “Puli.”
But, the controversy did not end there. Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi who normally stays away from controversies, particularly on the Telangana issue, on Friday made a startling allegation against the Osmania University students, stating that they had demanded “kickbacks” from him and the producer of the film for releasing the movie in the Telangana region. He said the OU joint action committee people came to me and demanded money. When we refused, they created the nuisance for the sake of publicity,” he said.
The comments from Chiranjeevi were surprising, as the demand for removal of Komaram was not new one, raised by OU students, but by the family members of Komaram Bheem and Adivasis of Kerameri area in Adilabad, who claimed that the family name “Komaram” was revered in their area and hence the name should not be misused for films. Even a couple of days before the release of the film, Bheem’s grandson Komaram Soni addressed a press meet, requesting the removal of the word.
So, it was rather instigating for the Telangana leaders for Chiranjeevi making allegations against OU students. He cannot prove such allegations and they would only help provoking the Telangana sentiments further.

Story, screenplay, dialogues, direction: S J Suryah
Producer: Singanamala Ramesh Babu
Release date: 10/09/2010

This is the movie from Power star Pawan Kalyan after a long hiatus after ‘Jalsa’. And this is the movie that has come in the combination of SJ Suryah and Pawan that made big success a decade ago with ‘Khushi’. Pawan, who has been keeping his fans in the lurch for quite a while has finally arrived amidst tension and confusion in the form of ‘Komaram Puli’.

Story
The pregnant wife (Saranya) of an honest cop who is killed by the villain Al-Saleem (Manoj Bajpai) vows to bring up her son as a tough police officer. The kid grows up to be Komarum Puli (Pawan Kalyan) and he is a role model to the entire police department.

Saving the PM’s life, he gets to form ‘Puli Team’ which runs independently of any external force. A missing case incident of inspector Hussain (Suryah) gets him to Saleem and that eventually blooms to become a battle between the two.

On the other hand, there is the heroine (Nikesha) who is doing her best to woo Puli before and after marriage. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Performances
Pawan Kalyan was loud and annoying, he reminded of Sai Kumar in Kannada movies showing over energy at every dialogue of his. It kind of looked eccentric than his trademark style of performance…

Nikisha is the saving grace of the film, her beautiful eyes and fresh oomph gives ample visual feast and she has shown enough confidence in body language and expressions in terms of her acting.

Manoj Bajpayee did his best to fit the big villain role and as usual, his character was not etched well to give that heavy and powerful impact.

Saranya was at her standard as a mother, crying when needed, motivating when required and doing justice to her role.

Ali was stale, Shriya was not required at all, Charan Raj was apt, Nasser was natural, Girish Karnad came and went, Brahmaji was brief, the person doing the role of Nixon was rigid, the others came in to fill the gap and the film duration.

Highlights:
Heroine

Disappointments:
No continuity from scene to scene:
  • In one frame Pawan appears with long moustache and in immediate scene with short one…
  • In one scene the villain finds his car missing in Hyderabad City Center and in immediate scene he confronts Pawan Kalyan in Bangkok on a roof top helipad and asks to get back his car. …
  • In one scene Pawan Kalyan wears khakhi uniform and in immediate scene he appears in olive green…
No comedy:
  • There is no instance where the audiences can laugh whole heartedly.
  • Pawan Kalyan’s so-called comedy with Nikesha Patel in second half when she seduces him is miserable.
Weak Choreography:
  • Shriya’s item song got wasted with weak choreography
  • No song is gripping or holding the attention of audiences visually
Analysis
Right from the word goes, the film takes a sloppy opening and the introduction of Pawan Kalyan was ridiculous. Everything looked disjointed and the feel was missing completely. Here are a few blunders if we can call it
  • poor graphics in Pawan Kalyan introduction sequences, they looked
  • childish, hardly any punch in the introduction of Nikesha as well
  • very wrong sequencing of songs and without proper choreography and unwanted close up shots taking away the appeal
  • each frame lasted not more than 5 seconds and it was visually very disturbing
  • weak content
  • unwanted lectures from Pawan Kalyan for every situation
  • cheap costume selection for Nikesha in many sequences
  • The uniform of Puli Team which reminds us of private security force
  • The dual uniform of Pawan which leaves us with a confusion
  • Negligible and silly comedy
  • Not one gripping sequence
The list continues for long but overall, the film lacks the strength or the maturity to really be called as a commercial entertainer.
Unfortunately, the strong presence of Pawan Kalyan was missing in this and he looked quite aloof in the film without any involvement.
The major flaw for the film is the direction and raw handling of the script with patchy screenplay. Editing was another disaster. Given the budget involved even if the costs for the delay are taken away, the film could have been much-much better. Not one song is appealing, background score was just average. At the box office, this will have a good opening but running successfully is ruled out.

CineamKeka Gossip : He Is Not A Hero …But ‘Nero’!!

When Rome was burning in fire, emperor Nero was said to be playing his fiddle. Now, it appears that Pawan Kalyan is doing the same thing. Starting from the producer of ‘Komaram Puli’ to the buyers, distributors, the theatre owners who have given heavy advances, all of them are in nerve breaking tension whether the prints will reach on time.
But Pawan is busy with spreading a peace message through a film that is being made on Jesus Christ and is enjoying the beauties of Israel and Jerusalem. Frankly, the main reason for all the problems of ‘Komaram Puli’ is Pawan Kalyan. It is due to him that the film went through long delay. However, once he did his dubbing, Pawan left to his new movie shooting as if he has no connection with the film anymore. Big stars like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan are catering a lot of time for the publicity of their films and show special interest.
Because, in order to make a film successful getting close to the people and getting them to the theatres has become quite difficult. Under this situation, instead of promoting the film, fleeing the country is a reflection of Pawan’s irresponsibility. In few hours, the fate of the film will be known, it can become a super hit or a super flop. That is a different issue. But….while the producer is running helter skelter from pillar to post and seeing hell, how fair is it on Pawan’s part to stay abroad at this hour? Who will believe if people like this will do some good to the society?

CineamKeka : Kajal- Ileana Showing Hell To Producers!!!

They may well be the hottest stars for the Telugu audience but they sure are the most horrifying stars for their producers.

Atleast, that is the talk in the industry. Apparently, we are talking about Kajal Agarwal and Ileana, and their exorbitant demands. Sources reveal that the producers are having a tough time trying to put up with their demands. While Kajal insists that her mum should be with her wherever she goes and this includes her business class ticket and all the other luxuries, even painful is said to be Ileana.

It is heard that Ileana wants 3 business class tickets for her entourage, a Mercedes Benz at her disposal whenever she wants and also the condition that no outdoor shoot can stretch beyond 10 days since she has to get back to her dogs in Goa. The final nail on the producer’s head is when she charges a whopping Rs 1.25 crores as her fees. Well…that’s the story of top heroines for you folks…

CineamKeka : Chiranjeevi Spoiling Ramcharan’s Career?

There is a fine line between monitoring the career of a son and maintaining it. Right now, megastar Chiranjeevi seems to be doing the second thing and this, many say, is not a good sign. Apparently, the buzz is that Chiru has begun to do some fingering into the career plans of his son Ramcharan Tej.

This has come into discussion because of the fact that Charan has been smooth sailing with ‘Orange’ under the direction of Bommarillu Bhaskar and then he has ‘Merupu’ under the direction of Bharani K Dharan. But Chiru’s decision that Charan must work with the rather eccentric Krishna Vamsi has raised few eyebrows.

Right now, Krishnavamsi is in a struggling phase and no one has an idea as to why Chiru wants Charan to work with him. The industry sources say that Krishnavamsi has got a ‘Paityam’ of sorts when someone approaches him to take up a project. So, the coming days will show whether Chiru has done the right thing for his son or not.

CineamKeka : Aishwarya Rai Caught Smoking!!

The gorgeous green eyed beauty Aishwarya Bachchan is an icon to the global audience and whatever she does or says matters a lot. So, it has become a concern of sorts with the buzz that she was caught smoking. Well, this is part of her new movie ‘Guzaarish’ directed by Sanjay Bhansali.

Apparently, the trailer of the film was due for release but it was held back due to concern about this shot where Ash is trying to puff the smoke. While the role doesn’t have her to smoke, the makers say that this was just one of those funny scenes where Ash tries to smoke.

Whatever the intent, the fact that she is seen smoking on the screen is enough to send wrong signals to the public so the chances of removing that in the trailers and including it in the film looks likely now.

Jhansi’s Sexy Look Stunned All :: CinemaKeka Gossip

TV anchor Jhansi is known for her homely appeal. She never used to show herself with artificial make up or transparent attire. But freshly in the occasion of ‘Ranga The Donga’ audio release, she anchored the show wearing a sexy transparent sleeve attracting the looks of every one towards her glowing shoulders and hands. Who advised her to come that way? It is known that Jhansi got divorced a few years ago and the rumor mills say that she is going to get married soon to a media personality. Although the news is not confirmed officially, now Jhansi is coming as a tough competition for Udaya Bhanu, not just in words but also in glamour, say many.

Ameesha's Mysterious 'Faint' In Balayya's Shooting :: CinemaKeka

North Indian News Papers wrote that Ameesha Patel was collapsed during the shooting of a Telugu Movie and her other rushed to hospital along with her. The reason for 'collapse'/ 'faint' is not covered by many. The Telugu movie that is referred here is nothing but ‘Parama Veera Chakra’ starring Balakrishna in the direction of Dasari Narayan Rao.

Despite the incident happened in Hyderabad, care was taken in all angles to keep this news silent. No suspicion would have been surrounded had this news appeared in Telugu media by now. But since it was hidden, it is rising to suspicions.

Had Ameesha fainted just due to weakness or lack of sleep? If that is the matter then there is no need for hiding the news. So is there is any other reason behind this that has to be hidden?

This incident is reminding Neetu Chandra's episode with hero Rajasekhar during the shooting of 'Satyameva Jayate'. It is known that Neetu complained on Rajasekhar for mishandling her and the news first appeared only in Mumbai media and only then it reached regional media. So, will this Ameesha Patel's news also appears in regional media shortly??!! Wait and see.

Great Insult To Ram Gopal Varma!!! :: CinemaKeka Gossip

It is a fact that it has not just been months but years since RGV has delivered a hit. But then, the craze for him as a director has not reduced even by an inch. If RGV is doing a film, any big hero will give in their call sheet without hesitation. Even though the film has a risk of 90% flop and 10% hit, they are eager to act in his direction. Who knows, getting miffed with successive flops, Ramu must have developed the urge to give a hit and if that happens, he will come up with a much greater film than ‘Shiva’. Even if it flops, not much harm is done to the actors’ career.
Similarly, many feel it to be a prestige and privilege to have RGV in their functions. Instead of considering the presence of a man of that stature as an honor, Brahmanandam has reportedly insulted RGV during the title logo launch event of his son’s film ‘Vaareva’. It seems Brahmi said that he had Puri Jagannadh in mind for invite and when he went there, he saw RGV also in story discussions. However, it seems he expressed happiness that Ramu came even without inviting him. The title logo event had Puri, EVV, Vytla and others.
Usually, Ramu doesn’t like coming to such events and wasting time but Brahmi’s time seems to be going good. However, instead of appreciating the arrival of Ramu, speaking otherwise is not being hailed by many. It is heard that even Ramu is miffed with these comments from Brahmi. Not only that, the indirect statement from Brahmi that he takes Rs 5 lakhs per day in the presence of four top directors and others is not going well with many and they are finding Brahmi’s act to be disgusting.
